The Easiest Tiramisu Eggless Recipe

For the vegans that want a tiramisu without cheese or egg, this is the recipe for you! Before we get started on baking this amazing tiramisu recipe, there's two components to this recipe: the first is to creating the Mascarpone Cream Mixture and the second is tiramisu itself.

Here are the ingredients you’ll need to get started! 

  1. Rich's Versatie Cooking and Whipping Solution - 250ml
  2. Zanetti Mascarpone Cheese, softened - 250g
  3. Caster Sugar - 1/4 cup
  4. Coffee or Vanilla Extra - 1 teaspoon
  5. Lady Fingers - 24 to 28 pieces
  6. Pastry Mart High-Fat Cocoa Powder 20-22% Alkalised (Dark Red Colour) - 2 teaspoon
  7. Sugar Syrup (30ml sugar combined with 30ml water)
  8. Espresso, or another strong coffee. Cooled. - 360ml

Also, here are some important points to take note:
- 9×9″ pan will yield 12 slices (3×2.25″ each) and require 28 ladyfingers. You can watch the video for this exact recipe!
- 8×8″ pan will yield 9 slices (2.5×2.5″ each) and require 24 ladyfingers. As shown in pictures. The cream layer will be thicker using this smaller size pan.
​​​​​​​- For a stronger coffee/liquor flavour, replace half of the sugar syrup with 5ml of choice of liquor.
- Leftovers can be covered and stored in the fridge for up to 4 days

Once you've bought all your ingredients and have it ready, let's get started on making this tiramisu!

How to make vegan tiramisu!

First, let's start with making the Mascarpone Cream Mixture.

1. Mix the mascarpone, sugar, and extract until fully combined.
2. Use a rubber spatula and fold the mixture a few times scraping the bottom and sides of the bowl. Set aside.
3. Beat the whipping cream until stiff peaks form.
4. Add in the mascarpone mixture.
5. Use a rubber spatula and fold the mixture a few times scraping the bottom and sides of the bowl.
6. Then, use the electric mixture to beat again until smooth (a few seconds is all you need!). Once done, set it aside.

Now we can get to layering the tiramisu!

1. Stir the cooled coffee and sugar syrup together.
2. Lightly dip each lady finger biscuits into the coffee mixture. Do not soak or the cookies will be soggy!
3. Line a baking dish with a layer of lady finger biscuits .
4. Use a palette knife to spread a generous layer of cream mixture over the lady finger biscuits.
7. Repeat another layer of ladies finger biscuits and cream.
8. Chill for a minimum of 4 hours or overnight (preferred for the layers to be thoroughly infused with the flavours).
9. Dust with a layer of cocoa powder before serving.
